Hi for the past few weeks me and my group members Sione and Eddie have been working on building a catapult.

Hello again this is what we had to do before we were able to make our own and improved catapult.

So first we our focus was on energy about kinetic and positive, elastic, and others.  After we were on learning about doing kahoots even still to this day. We were getting tired, so we moved on and started making three different modules of a catapult. We made them out of items like school Items. The catapult we made 123, 1 was cool, 2 was easy, 3 was even easier. We used number two and improved it. It was good. I think that it's enough for today because you might

 yesterday we did our reflection for november  to reflect on our work.

for tui ridge we did high ropes, rope maze, rock climming,paintball,lazar tag, and flying fox.

my favourite one was rock climbing  because you got to bounce down the wall when you got to the top

ice Candles

Today and yesterday we made ice candles.

Here are the steps

1.get an almond milk container

2. clean it

3. cut the top off 

4.put oil in there then rub around the four sides so nothing sticks to the sides

5.put a long skinny candle in the middle

6.put ice in it.

7. put wax in after the ice 

8. let it set for 1 day

9. rip it open

Then you're done. 

I was so cool but so slimy. There was holes from the ice melting and lots of water poured out. The heat from the wax had melted the ice and the the wax set.

summer learning

Today our class was doing art coloring book  for summer.

I found it hard to colour in.

I enjoyed to colour in and learn about who made it Winslow Homer made the first one born in1865.

And the second one Hokusaicamade born in 1832.

Spooky house

W.A.L.T. infer-infer means to be the Detective and find the answers and the text

 This Week for reading we had to read Spooky House, We had to create a Spooky House.

In this story the movers asked the family "have we got the right house" because it was so old and the crazy old scientist lived in it and died, and strange things happen in it, that they think no one would want to live in it. 

I found it easy to draw the science lab, which is at the very top of the house. 

I enjoyed making all the spooky stuff.

Parihaka

We have been learning about Parihaka. The pakeha soldiers were taking the Maori land and selling it. The Maori people baked the soldiers bread and the children sang and did poi dancing to welcome them. But the soldiers just walked past and burnt down the whole village and destroyed their crops.

We had to think about how the soldiers felt and use a google tool to show our thinking. Josh and I chose wevideo.

Thank you letters

 This week our class has been working on a thank you letter to someone  that came or did some thing for our year 5&6 camp.

I enjoyed writting about the indoor rock climming because it gave me more memories of camp.

I found it hard to think of stuff because I was just thinking about indoor rock climming.

Dear Dad, 

Thank you for taking us to camp. I thought you were the best parent at camp because you pushed us to go further than we thought we could and you also played Bat Down with us when the activities were finished. 

The best activity was Indoor Rock Climbing. When I first saw it I was like “Na!” but when I got on, it was fun because you got to bounce down the wall after you had made it to the top. I also enjoyed the Flying Fox because it was fun chucking the rope over the line to pull the line down.

 Thank you so much for making our camp lots of fun.

October Reflection

 Today our class had to do our October Reflection. It is a good time to think about and reflect on what we did in October. It was busy. My most favourite thing was camp because we did lots of activities that I have never done before like indoor rock climbing anf flying fox.

I found it hard to figure out how much points we had.

I enjoyed typing about camp because it gave me more memories.

 We got back on Friday from camp. 

I enjoyed indoor rockcliming The first  time I saw the wall I said to my self I got this then I got to the top.

Jungle law

 This week my reading group the green lanterns  we are  reading jungle law it's a book about a scientist out in the jungle studying plant life and animals.

we took a paragraph from page 23 and we had to do it like Geronimo Stilton words

I  enjoyed doing it like Geronimo Stilton font 

I found it hard to type well my pantner was donig the font because I really wanted to do it so I did do some but he did all the good ones.

 Today the class did letters to the editor gisborne herald.

I enjoyed typing to be on a news paper hopefully they pick me to be in the news paper.

I foud it hard because the people on my table were playing.

Letters to the Editor

St Mary’s School is trying to inspire native birds and insects to come down to our Rerenga Awa.

We have planted native trees down by the awa to provide shade and keep the our Rerenga Awa clean. But there’s blackberry in the way. We have been asking the council to spray and mow it for ages. People from our school have been to see them, emailed them and used the Fix It app. But we have had no response. I firmly believe that the council should come and spray the blackberry so we can keep planting native trees.

Tracy Tawhiao

 This weekend last week we have been doing Tracy Tawhiao.                                                                          we had newspaper and painted over the words  that don't relate to us and leave the ones that relate to us and we are the patterns on from where you were from. I'm a Maori so I did Maori designs. and we had to leave lines in between paragraphs and big words.
