This week we have been learning about Matariki.
Matariki is a cluster of Stars.

This week we are learning about Matariki. We are learmning to use visual language features. We had to use subheadings, txt boxes and pictures.
I found it hard to get it done because I went with Mrs Chrisp and when we finsh with Mrs Chrisp the class are already finished writing.

Matariki is a Moari New Year. They are a cluster of stars they appear in the night sky. In (June/July) the cluster of stars appear.
How many stars does Matariki have?
Matariki has nine visible stars according to leading Maori astronomer Dr Rangi. Matamua who's been researching Matariki for over 30 years.
The nine matariki stars.
Matariki a star that signifies reflection hope our connection to the environment.
Pōhutukawa is the star connected with those who passed away.
Waiti is connected with all fresh water bodies and food sources.
Waita is associated with the ocean and food sources.
Waipuna- ā Rangi is connected with the rain that fall from the sky.
Tuouānukuis connected with was everything that grows within the soil.
Tupuārangi is connected with everything that goes up in the trees like, fruits, berries, and ,birds
